Hi Everyone,
I'm new to your site and new to Mopar engines.
Looking for some advice please, I recently purchased two engines, 1 being a 440 but I'm a little unsure about the other!
The engine casting numbers are as follows 2205887-2
Am I correct in thinking it is a 413 RB series? I'm putting one of them in my Dax Cobra.
Any help would be appreciated.
Alan

Hi there and welcome to the Club.

Not sure on the casting number but I think a 426 is harder to get parts (Pistons, etc) than a 440.

Speaking of which, the 440 is a fair old heavy lump to put in a Dax.
What Transmission are you using?

Please post pictures up!

All the best.

Pete

I think there will be a machined flat bit somewhere, with some hand stamped, rather than cast data, and that might tell you what it is

probably near the distributor or down near the oil pan rail

unless its from the 50s or something it should say B, RB, LA, A D, RG or G maybe some symbols and the engine number and usually capacity

MR in addition, anywhere and its potentially a marine engine

G, RG and D should be easy to spot all are 6 cylinder :)

Hi,
Thank you all for your help, I have cleaned up the flat plate and the following numbers are stamped, T41 and 1128. I was intending to marry the engine to a BMW 5 series E60 5 speed manual gearbox. It is a good call re the engine weight, I do intend lightening the load by using ally heads and removing other heavy castings and replacing with lighter weight items. The aim is roughly 500 BHP. I'm in no rush to do this, I want all the ducks in a row before I do anything hence throwing it out to you guy's with more knowledge.
Cheers,
Alan.

Cool.

Does the car have a v5 or have you got to go through IVA?

https://www.tpocr.com/chryec.html

1963 V8 413 cubic inches

going by the above, I guess early enough not to follow the normal case of the CI size and block type on the pad, which by the look of things could be in any number of places.....but stamped is key rather than cast in.
