Bryan's 62 Plymouth

Post by rocket70 »

No bosses in at work today, so took the opportunity to work on the car.

The headliner needed some attention so decided to take it down and re install it with a base layer of silent coat. Stripped it out and wire brushed the roof. Primered the roof with red oxide paint as that’s all I had, not sure if that was a good move, time will tell. I’ll try and get a few hours putting the silent coat on tomorrow. Swapped out the horrendous bumper bolts for some stainless steel domed bolts that I polished to a shine. Did a steering wheel swap as well to get rid of the bling one that was on there but I also need to a bit more on that tomorrow.

Removed a cover today to reveal the electrics. This will be getting the it attention deserves once an original instrument cluster arrives from the states.

Silent coat, is that the heat/sound material. Have it on the floor of the Dart, works well for the heat but not much for the noise, or am I just getting old.

Yes thats correct. Couldn't really think of what else to use on the roof under the headliner.

Hmm, I wouldn’t be happy with that wiring either, mind you it would have been much worse if the Americans had been at it.
