This could be a significantly daft question, i am replacing my radiator and hoses on 383bb. When refilling the system do i have to remove the thermostat to fill the block?..i have had various views. What is the correct procedure???
Also coolant volume and recommended type/mix.
Thanks

Re: Replacing radiator
fill it up
leave cap off
start it up
let it idle
when the themostat opens the radiator will bubble and spit as the air is pushed out of the heads
top it up when there is space to do so
once you have a smooth running flow under the filler but covering the internals, and no more big burps
put the cap on
drive it
check it when you get back ONCE it has cooled down
well thats what i do
i may be wrong but have suffred no ill effects when doing this
speed up the process by jacking the front end up a bit
