Classic car insurance

Post by Derek »

A couple of weeks ago I got an email from Brentacre saying,

"Good morning,

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer cover from your renewal date, so you will need to make alternative arrangements. This could be due to a change in circumstances from when you last renewed or took the policy out or could be a change in the insurance company’s acceptable criteria. If you would like any further explanation, please do not hesitate to contact us". :(

A few people in the past couple of months have had the same email as it's automated so they went looking and found other insurers, they should have called Brentacre like I did, \:D/ I was told it's not them but Markerstudy who are an insurance company that have stopped insuring American cars and Hot Rod.

Brentacre were good and found me another insurance company and said it would be around £20 more than last year which I said was fine, Friday night January 26th around 5pm I got a call from Brentacre who said Markerstudy have had a change of heart and are now taking on American cars again so they have put me back with them at the old price of £155.00 agreed value of £70.000.

Well done Brentacre for going the extra mile, you get my vote. =D>
Are we there yet dad ..... 10 to the gallon but worth it.

Good result, Derek. Always pays to talk, I find!

My bike insurance renewal came through a couple of weeks ago at £100 increase. Rang and told them two hopes and they put me back to just a £10 increase over previous year.

Sounds like Brentacre are a good one to deal with, I’ll give them a try when the car insurance comes round again.

Nice one Derek!
I probably would have taken my business elsewhere and not phoned them so good to know it was worth calling them!

My broker just told me last week, just as my insurance was due for renewal, that Markerstudy now not offering a renewal quote.

So will now be reviewing accordingly :thumbright:

I changed over from RH to Cherished Vehicle Insurance (part of A plan) over 2 years ago and they are very competitive and good.

They did me an agreed valued insurance based on a few photos and they were lower than RH then. Hope they are still good price this year.
