Anyone else here thinking of going to this - Sun 21st Sept?

Heard good reports from last year... :-k

A bit like how American Speedfest at Brands Hatch started, ie free for display car and driver, but passengers have to pay £23 (adv) or £27 (gate), so not too bad if you share the cost.

150 mile round trip for us but at least it's not round the M25 on a Sunday afternoon, which is what put the kibosch on Speedfest for us

A few pics from Snetterton, a couple of Sundays ago...

As expected, a bit like Brands Hatch's American Speedfest but on a smaller scale, obvs. And without the M25 to contend with \:D/

The circuit itself tho is much longer than Brands - 3 miles vs 1.2 miles. I think Matt Snowball said he gets up to 130 mph on the longer straights

It was nice to be at a circuit where your view of the track isn't restricted by tall fences, so plenty of good vantage points for taking photos.
That said, we only watched the 2x Bernie's V8 races...

They do have exceptions - I think the MG's may have all been V8s but the Talbot Sunbeam Lotus and E-type weren't... :-k

After the race we saw someone we hadn't seen for about 35 years, or since we moved away from the family home in the early 90's - Andy Harvey (think that's his surname? :-k ) He used to be a bus driver around Edgware but for fun he used to have a 1940 Willys coupe - back when it was THE car to have 8-)
He's now got the cherry-red 1950 Chevy pick up pictured below. Main topic of conversation was how he and most of the people we know who grew up around north London / Essex have moved up to Lincolnshire to get away from it all and to get way more bang for your buck.
And Lincolnshire is a hotbed of hot-rodding activity... who knew?

Ahh memories, thanks for posting those.
'twas a good day out, got to see cars that we don't see much 'down' our way, even though Snetterton is only about 1.5 hours north.
Them poor cars really do suffer another level of abuse compared to drag racing!

I hope Spa went well for you, Matt.
