Are there different 727 gearbox dipsticks ?
My 72 Dart was fitted with a heavy duty van 727 gearbox, by the previous owner in the USA.
I can't remember if it ever fitted properly when I took the gearbox out years ago.
Its just floating about , it won't go behind the lug , which is where it looks like it goes , and then bolts to the gearbox bolt
. Any ideas ?

Yes different tubes and sticks depending on the application. Chris Goodale normally has the better style of locking dipstick in stock, just ask for small block 727 as an application.

Thank you. As I haven't done Mopars for 10 years , I don't know who the parts supplier's are.

Re: Dipstick tube
In the end I decided I could make a small braket to go between the gearbox bolt and the tube braket, and save the £80 for something else.
