Sure thing - we removed 850mm down all the way over the entire area and filled it then with all the hardcore, compacting in 150mm layers.
Then removed the deep areas seen for the concrete to collect in, as the base is a structual raft rather than your normal 'pad' design under each building support you might see on a farm for example.
Reason for this is the clay soil conditions and hedge nearby. Also this has to be much better build to meet building regulations as this will be occupied by humans rather than just cattle/hay.
It has been over designed.

thats alot of concrete how many inches deep are you going for the floor? looks like your over engineering it , definately better in the long run

Hello,
its 200mm thick over the entire slab, at the edges it is 800mm deep.
Yes - it is not going to move anytime soon
48 hours since the pour and no cracks so far

Very over the top,but that's councils for you. I've 50mm of concrete on dpc over soil and have jacked the belve numerous times with no cracking

Do it once, do it properly
The design for the base was done by a structual engineer - over the top though I'll agree on that - better that way than the other though.
