Had a truly awful weekend and today was going from bad to worse, so decided to park project ashtray and escape it all by going for a drive. Took the Challenger out of the lock up, left it running for a minute while I chucked my car in its place and locked it in the unit. Went to get back in the car and the door handle literally came off in my hand. You couldn’t make it up. A lock up full of tools and couldn’t get in to get them because the key to the lock was on the car keys, sitting in the ignition of the Challenger whilst it idled away, blocking up the entrance road… FFS… :banghead: :angryfire:

#-o I hope you have a glass or two of something decent to ease you out of the weekend in a better frame of mind.....

I am currently sat at the kitchen table demolishing the remains of a bottle of Jack and searching the internet for door handles…

Honestly running out of things life can throw at me. I know it’s only a door handle, but it just feels like the last Bananarama! straw.

I assume you got in the car eventually and put her safe?

Yes, called out the cavalry who arrived with long nose pliers and managed to get hold of just enough metal to be able to trigger the latch. Went for a cruise anyway after that to blow out the cobwebs and frustration. Just had to remember to unlock the passenger side and put the window down before I got out to unlock the lock up again. :thumbright:

Lesson learned, I’ve ordered some key blanks to make a spare set up.

There goes the rear seat upholstery money, then.

At least I can get this sorted at the weekend now and get in and out, hopefully get one last dry drive in before winter tear down.

New keys cut too, won’t be making that mistake again… :banghead:

Thought I’d have a quick run today to make sure everything was ok, as there’s a little meet up I was going to do tomorrow. To be honest, this isn’t what I was hoping to see when I got here…

Top it up and if it's not dripping when its running carry on regardless and fix at your leisure.

I’ve wiped it all down, chucked some card under it to see how much pours out overnight, but not hopeful. Dripping off the bell housing and also sump bolts, so think I have more than one problem.

Was tempted to just top it up and take an oil can with me, but not sure.

Probably from the rear of the Rocker Boxes and running down the back of the motor, or an incorrectly run breather pipe - I have seen that before...

Can’t quite see where it’s coming from, but definitely running down from somewhere high I think. Think sump gasket a definite needs doing though.

Just makes me twitchy driving knowing it lost so much over a week.

That's not a lot - it goes everywhere.

If you are worried, carry a quart with you and check the level before you drive it home.

The best trick is do what Blue has done on the Barracuda and I did on the Bee and the Race Car = a 30psi pressure switch.
It will glimmer briefly on turns, etc if it is really low; and it will keep you honest....
